Volleyball Closes CAA Regular Season At Home With Hofstra

BOSTON – The Northeastern volleyball team closes out the CAA regular season at home this weekend, hosting Hofstra for a two-match series. The first match is set for Friday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. on NESN, followed by the second match on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. LAST TIME AT HOME – The Huskies dominated the court in their last outing at the Cabot Center, sweeping Hampton without dropping a set. In Friday's opener, NU rolled to a 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-18, 25-21), racking up 49 kills and hitting .14 as a team. The squad kept the energy high on Saturday, finishing the series with another decisive sweep (25-10, 25-16, 25-23), thanks to a stellar 13-kill outing from Brynn Smith and 23 assists from setter Arina Sosinovica.

2. SEASON STAT LEADERS – The Huskies continue to showcase strong individual and team performances across the board. Beatrice Gennari leads the CAA with a .396 hitting percentage -- totaling 156 kills -- and 18 blocks which are tied for second in the conference. Nadia Koanui anchors the defense with 393 digs, ranking fourth among all CAA players. As a team, Northeastern sits near the top of the league standings – ranking third in total digs (1,307), fourth in aces per set (1.66), third in blocks per set (2.12) and top four in both total kills (1,172) and kills per set (12.88).

3. PREPPING FOR THE PRIDE– In their most recent series during the 2024 season, the Pride won both matches, taking match one in four sets and match two in straight sets. In Friday's game, Brynn Smith led the Huskies with 12 kills, while Nadia Koanui recorded 10 digs and eight assists. On Saturday, Georgia Stavrinides tallied a team-high nine kills and Carly Cooper dished out ten assists and seven digs.
