Whitehead Notches Second Goaltender Of The Week Award

AMESBURY, Mass. — For the second time this season, sophomore Cameron Whitehead was named the Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week by the league on Monday. This marks the fourth career honor for the Ontario native.

Whitehead was a wall in net, starting with a career-high 44 saves in 84:39 minutes of action in Northeastern's double overtime win against eight-seeded Merrimack in the opening round of the Hockey East Tournament. The sophomore then guided the Huskies to a 3-1 victory over top-seeded No. 1 Boston College in the Hockey East Quarterfinal, making 30 saves.

The Vegas Golden Knights draft pick finished with 74 saves and a 96.1 save percentage through two games for his best stretch of the season.

Whitehead and the Huskies return to TD Garden for the third time this season as they face the Maine Black Bears in the Hockey East Semifinal on Thursday, March 20 at 7:35 p.m. The game will be shown on both NESN+ and ESPN+.
