ATTLEBORO, Mass. – In its first race of the season, the Northeastern men's cross country team finished first in the team standings at the Friar Invitational 6k race on Friday afternoon, paced by sophomore
Nico Boyle, who took third overall in the race.
- Boyle finished with a time of 18:29.6, beating out the fourth place finisher by 0.3 seconds, and setting a new personal best by nearly a full minute.
- The next Husky to cross was freshman Dawson French, finishing fifth in 18:30.8 in his first collegiate race.
- The Huskies got 10 points from Jack Seagroatt in 10th place, finishing in 18:45.6 in his collegiate debut.
- NU's fourth scorer was junior Ryan Sarney in 18th place, finishing in 19:05.8 in his first 6k finish.
- Rounding out Northeastern's scorers was junior Ryan Gruczka, taking 22nd in 19:09.9, a new personal best mark.
- Northeastern just beat out second place Dartmouth and Boston University, with both teams earning 59 points to Northeastern's 58. Seven of the top 10 runners in the race were from NU, BU, or Dartmouth.
