Jönsson, Lloyd Earn Weekly Accolades From Hockey East

AMESBURY, Mass.— Sophomore Lisa Jönsson and freshman Ella Lloyd of the No. 6 Northeastern women's hockey team claimed Hockey East weekly honors as announced on Monday. Jönsson was named the Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week and Lloyd earned Army ROTC Defender of the Week honors.

The duo helped guide the Huskies to a 3-0-0 week with a win in the Beanpot Consolation against Boston College and a weekend sweep over then-No. 5 UConn.

Jönsson posted a 2-0-0 record for NU, including one shutout, averaging a 1.00 GAA and .973 save percentage. She tallied 27 saves in the win against Boston College. The Stockholm, Sweden native posted a career-high 45 saves en route to shutting out No. 5 UConn on the road on Saturday.

Lloyd was a defensive anchor for the Huskies across three wins. She posted her first career game-winning goal with just 15.2 seconds remaining at UConn on Saturday to deliver Northeastern its first sweep over a top-five opponent since the 2021-22 season.

Jönsson, Lloyd and the Huskies are back in action with a home-and-home series against No. 13 Holy Cross beginning on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at Walter Brown Arena.
