BOSTON – Northeastern track and field athlete Kyle Sarney was named the CAA Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday, after a standout performance in the mile at the BU Scarlet and White Invitational.
The North Easton, Massachusetts, native won the mile at the BU meet with a time of 4:00.39, finishing ahead of a 56-athlete field. His performance ranks sixth all-time in Northeastern program history and currently sits 48th in the NCAA. The mark also leads the CAA by five seconds over the next closest competitor.
Sarney and the Huskies return to action on Friday, Jan. 30, and Saturday, Jan. 31, at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic.
