No. 16/15 Northeastern Visits Vermont For Weekend Set

BOSTON, Mass. — The No. 16/15 Northeastern men's hockey team returns to Hockey East play with a two-game series against the Vermont Catamounts on Friday (Jan. 9) and Saturday (Jan. 10) at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. STICK SEASON IN VERMONT: The Huskies have dominated recent matchups against the Catamounts, going 15-4-1 over the last 20 meetings with a 60-33 scoring edge. NU swept UVM in last season's road series, taking game one 2-1 in overtime and game two 3-2, with junior captain Jack Williams delivering game-winning goals in both contests. Northeastern has won three straight at Gutterson Fieldhouse, outscoring the Catamounts 8-3 in that span.
  2. BLUELINE CREW: Northeastern's defensive core has combined for 29 points from eight goals and 21 assists this season, accounting for nearly a quarter of the team's total offensive production. A Huskies defenseman has recorded at least one point in every game Northeastern has scored in this season (16 of 17 contests). NU's senior class, comprised entirely of defensemen, has played a pivotal leadership role with the quartet combining for 25 of the blue line's 29 points.
  3. HRYCKOWIAN HOT STREAKJunior Dylan Hryckowian leads Northeastern with 21 points (10g, 11a) through 17 games, averaging 1.24 points per game with three points (1g, 2a) in his last two outings. The assistant captain has already surpassed his assist (11) and point (21) totals through 17 games from last season (8g, 19pts in first 17 games). Additionally, Northeastern is 6-2-0 when Hryckowian scores at least one goal this season.
