Huskies Visit No. 7/6 Providence For Two Games

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team travels to No. 7/6 Providence for a two-game Hockey East series against this weekend, marking the Huskies' first two-game road set at Schneider Arena since Dec. 9-10, 1994.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. FACING THE FRIARS: Junior Dylan Hryckowian leads all active Huskies with eight career points (2g, 6a) against the Friars, while senior Vinny Borgesi has recorded five assists in his career versus PC. Senior Austen May joined the Huskies this season after transferring from Providence and has collected six points (3g, 3a) and 37 blocked shots while hitting 100 collegiate games on Dec. 7, 2025 against UMass. 
  2. RISING ROOKIES: Northeastern's 12 new skaters have combined for 98 points from 31 goals and 67 assists this season, accounting for 51 percent of the team's total offensive production. The freshman class has been particularly impactful, tallying 68 of those 98 points from 24 goals and 44 assists. A NU rookie has recorded at least one point in all 25 games the Huskies have scored in this season, averaging 2.5 points per game as a group.
  3. NEW HEIGHTS FOR HUSKIES: Several Huskies have already established new career-high point totals during the 2025-26 season, showcasing significant offensive growth.Sophomore Joe Connor has emerged as one of Northeastern's most productive forwards, collecting 18 points from nine goals and nine assists. The Massachusetts native leads the team with three game-winning goals against Holy Cross, No. 18/19 Boston University and Brown. Connor recorded his first three-point outing (2g, 1a) in a 6-4 win over Holy Cross on Oct. 4 and tallied two assists in victories over No. 11/10 Boston College (4-1) and UMass (3-2).
