AMESBURY, Mass. – Freshman Amine Hajibi and junior Lawton Zacher of the Northeastern men's hockey team have each earned weekly honors from Hockey East, as announced Monday. Hajibi claimed the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week award for the second time this season, while Zacher took home Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week Honors for the third time this year.

Hajibi turned in the best weekend of his collegiate career, tying Northeastern's team-high with four points on four assists in a sweep of UMass Lowell. The freshman forward tallied three of those assists in an 8-2 win Saturday to set a new career-best for points in a single game, while also finishing the weekend with a plus-three rating, three shots and one block. The performance extended a recent scoring surge that has seen Hajibi rack up six points over his last four games. On the season, he sits tied for first among all Hockey East rookies with 13 assists – second among all skaters in the conference – while his 15 points rank tied for third.

Zacher was strong between the pipes all weekend, stopping 63 of 64 shots across 117:11 minutes of action to backstop the Huskies to the weekend sweep. The junior netminder led all Hockey East goaltenders over the two-game stretch with a .984 save percentage and a .51 goals against average, opening the series with a 32-save shutout Friday before turning aside 31 shots in Saturday's victory. The dominant weekend added to an already remarkable season for Zacher, who owns the best save percentage (.934, 3^rd in NCAA), goals against average (2.04; T-7^th in NCAA) and shutout total (5; 1^st in NCAA) among all Hockey East goaltenders.

Hajibi, Zacher and the Huskies play their last regular season series next weekend against Maine. Friday's game (Feb. 27) will be played at Cross Insurance Arena, with Saturday's rematch (Feb. 28) set for Tsongas Center.
