Huskies Head To Lowell For Two-Game Weekend

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team is set for their second-straight road series this weekend against UMass Lowell with a 7:15 p.m. puck drop on Friday (Feb. 20) and a 6:05 p.m. slate on Saturday (Feb. 21).

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. TESTING THE WATERS: In the last 20 meetings, Northeastern holds an 11-9 advantage over UML, including four shutouts. Sophomore Joe Connor leads all active Huskies with two points against the River Hawks. He recorded his first collegiate two-goal game on Feb. 14, 2025, scoring just under six minutes into the contest and adding a penalty shot goal in the second period. In that same contest, goaltender Quentin Sigurdson recorded his first career shutout and his first collegiate point with an assist on the game-winning goal with in his first collegiate start, making 34 saves.
  2. BEST OF TIMES: Career highs are becoming a trend for several Huskies this season as offensive production reaches new heights. Sophomore Griffin Erdman has totaled 10 points from five goals and five assists — all career-highs — while adding 23 shots and 16 blocked shots. The Delaware native scored the game-winning goal against New Hampshire on Jan. 16 en route to a 4-0 shutout and collected his first multi-point game on Jan. 18 against the Wildcats with one goal and one assist.
  3. TOP OF THE CLASS: Freshman Giacomo Martino leads all NU freshmen with nine goals (third on team) and paces all Huskies with six power-play goals. His two game-winning goals are tied for second on the team with fellow rookie Amine Hajibi. Freshman Jacob Mathieu tops all freshmen with 17 assists and 26 points (both second on team) and is tied with Martino with nine goals. He also ranks second among all skaters with four power-play goals and 46 blocked shots. The trio each recorded a multi-point weekend against No. 7/6 Providence, with Martino tallying three points (1g, 2a) while Hajbi (2a) and Mathieu (2g) each collected two points.
