Swim & Dive Prepares For Boston Winter Open, Northeastern Diving Invitational

BOSTON — The Northeastern women's swimming and diving team (6-2) prepares for a busy last weekend of competition before the CAA Championships. The Huskies swim team starts with the Boston Winter Open, hosted by Boston University, from February 6-7, and the diving team hosts UNH and Dartmouth for the Northeastern Diving Invitational, held at Barletta Natatorium on February 7 at 12 p.m. The Winter Open is available to stream on ESPN+ and the Diving Invitational will be on FloSwimming.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

1. SENIOR DAY SENDOFF — Northeastern celebrated their second largest win of the season against Stony Brook and honored six seniors for their impact and commitment to the swim and dive team. Senior Anelise Kim earned her second sweep of the season on the diving boards, and senior Anna Verlander led the Huskies with two wins, in the 50 Back and 200 Back. Prior to the day, all six seniors have contributed to two Terrier Invitational Victories, three Tate Ramsden Invitational wins, a 7-2 season in 2024-25, and many CAA Championship event medals.

2. BACK TO BU— The Huskies return to the Boston Winter Open for the fifth time in a row. Last year, the meet was highlighted by strong individual performances across multiple events. Graduate student Emily Gjertsen won the 400 IM with a personal-best 4:24.79, while then sophomore May Bradburn captured the 200 Free in 1:50.50, also setting a personal best. Earlier this season, the team traveled to BU for the Terrier Invitational, taking second place.

3. DIVING DAY — On Saturday, Northeastern will host the NU Divng Invitational. The Huskies welcome Dartmouth men and women, and the UNH women divers. Last year at the Invitational, Erin Murphy highlighted the meet with a first-place finish on the 1-meter board (309.05), her highest score of the season, and a second-place finish on the 3-meter (303.35). Current diver Madeleine Wong placed ninth in the 1-meter invitational, while Anelise Kim finished ninth on the 3-meter. Alison Kolman posted personal-best scores on both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.

Following this weekend, Northeastern looks ahead to the CAA Swimming & Diving Championships, held at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Virginia from February 25 to 28.
