THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- YOU KNOW THE DRILL — The Huskies have found their stride as of late, picking up nine new all-times this past weekend spanning over four meets. Freshman Ray Felton III picked up a tenth place all-time in the 100m (10.53), while freshman Iolo Grant earned sixth in the 110m hurdles (14.17) and freshman Aiden Ray ran the 400m hurdles to place seventh (52.65). In the decathlon, freshman Carter Engelman had a strong day of competition to land himself eighth all time (6,330). Graduate students Lucy Abdow and Stephanie Kriss competed in the 1500m to take seventh (4:29.74) and sixth (4:29.66) Kriss also earned a ninth all-time spot in the 800m (2:10.43). Fellow graduate student Vivian McMahon found herself at sixth place all-time in the 10,000m (36:19.97). On the field, senior Leila Curtis earned fourth all-time in the shot put (14.83m) and freshman Ogechi Nathan earned fourth in the triple jump (12.31m).
- RYAN TAKES ON THE RELAYS — Northeastern returns to the Penn Relays for the 16th time. This year, sole Huskey junior Ryan Sarney is competing at Franklin Field at 7:20 p.m. Sarney will take on the 3000m Steeplechase Championships. He previously competed in the event at the Friar Invitational this season, crossing the finish line at 8:57.76. This time placed him 90th in the NCAA in the event as well as fourth all-time in Northeastern history.
- THE PACK TRAVELS TO AMHERST — In addition to Philadelphia, 16 Huskies are competing in Amherst at the Ken O'Brien Championship Prep Meet. Last season, the field athletes made their mark as Mark Etienvre earned a fifth place finish in shot put with a distance of 14.64 meters, while teammate Ohan Ambartsoumian finished just behind in seventh with a mark of 13.93 meters.
