BOSTON – Head coach Brendan McGourn has tabbed senior Beatrice Gennari as team captain for the 2026 season. Sophomore Emma Rowell will serve alongside her as vice captain.
Gennari returns for her third season as a Husky after a standout 2025 campaign in which she appeared in all 98 sets, finishing with 171 kills on a .379 hitting percentage. The Monza, Italy native led the team in blocks, averaging .99 per set en route to 97 total blocks, adding 14 service aces along the way. She set a season high with 13 blocks against Towson and turned in one of her best all-around performances of the year at Fairfield, posting 12 kills and a team-high 17.5 points.
Rowell enters her second season with the Huskies after a breakout collegiate debut, leading the team in 2025 with 278 kills, 301.5 points and a 2.81 kills-per-set average across 99 sets. The Torrance, Calif. native reached double-figure kills in all 25 matches she appeared in, highlighted by a career night at William & Mary where she posted 24 kills and 25.5 points in five sets. Rowell capped her freshman campaign by earning a spot on the All-CAA Second Team and the CAA All-Rookie Team.
