RICHMOND, Va.— Senior goalkeeper Eliza Teplow of the Northeastern women's soccer team was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week as announced on Monday.
Teplow's first honor of the season comes after a pair of clean sheets in Northeastern's 2-0 start to the year. The Wellesley, Massachusetts, native was tested early, stopping nine shots to help the Huskies knock off preseason runner-up and regional foe Boston University, 1-0. She followed that up with a four-save effort in a 2-0 win over Merrimack on Sunday, finishing the week with 13 saves across two starts. The 5-9 goalkeeper was instrumental in helping Northeastern open a season 2-0 for the first time since 2017.
Teplow and the Huskies are back in action in Rhode Island on Thursday, Aug. 20 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
