BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team is set for another two-game week, first traveling to Rhode Island on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. The Huskies will then host Providence for their home opener at Parsons Field on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 4 p.m.
Thursday's game will stream on ESPN+ and Sunday's match is on FloCollege.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- A HOT START: Northeastern started the season 2-0 for the first time since 2017 and posted its first back-to-back shutouts since 2024. Senior goalkeeper Eliza Teplow was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week after posting 13 saves over two games. The Huskies scored three goals, with all goals coming from separate goal scorers.
- ON THE RHODE: The Huskies are set to face Rhode Island for the second year in a row after dropping to the Rams, 1-0, in 2025. NU owns a 6-4-2 record all-time against the Rams and are looking for its first win in Kingston since 2021. The Rams sit at 1-1 on the year after a season-opening victory against Maine followed by a loss at Providence.
- A LOOK AT THE FRIARS: The Huskies are looking for their first home-opening victory since the 2020-21 season. This marks the third season in a row PC and NU will meet. The Friars are riding a three-game win streak against the Huskies. Northeastern owns an all-time record of 3-5-1 against Providence, with its last win coming in 2016. PC is 1-0-1 in 2026, and will take on fellow CAA member Monmouth before traveling to Parsons.
The Huskies will next host Yale on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m.
