Huskies Head To Colgate For Final Non-Conference Test

BOSTON – The Northeastern volleyball team hits the road for the Ellis Rowland Memorial Tournament, hosted by Colgate, Friday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 13.

The Huskies open tournament play against Colgate on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m., then face Dartmouth on Sept. 12 at 2 p.m., before closing out the weekend against Albany on Sept. 13 at 4 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. LAST TIME OUT – The Huskies hosted their own tournament at Cabot Center last weekend, opening with a 3-0 sweep of Holy Cross before dropping back-to-back five-set battles to Fairfield and Harvard. Across the three matches, Emma Rowell led the offense with 43 kills, followed by Bryan Smith (33 kills) and Cayenne Ceman (32 kills). Arina Sosinovica ran the offense with 85 assists on the weekend, while Aven Crosby (25 digs) and Iris Canko (20 digs) anchored the back row.
  2. TOURNAMENT OPPONENTS – Northeastern last met Colgate on Sept. 12, 2003, sweeping the Raiders 3-0 behind a match-high 13 kills from Larissa Adomat. Against Dartmouth, the Huskies fell in five sets on Sept. 8, 2024, with Jane Nelson leading Northeastern with 17 kills and Nadia Koanui adding a match-high 27 digs. The series with Albany dates back further, with Northeastern's most recent meeting coming on Sept. 7, 2013 — a 3-1 loss in which Rebecca Rivera paced the match with 24 assists.
  3. ON A ROWELL Fresh off being named to the 2025 CAA All-Rookie Team, Emma Rowell is picking up right where she left off. Through 20 sets this season, the sophomore leads Northeastern with 73.0 points (3.65 points/set) and 70 kills. Rowell turned in her best performance of the young season on Sept. 5 against Fairfield, posting a season-high 19 kills to go along with 10 digs in the five-set thriller.
Northeastern opens CAA play with a road trip to Towson, taking on the Tigers on Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. and Sept. 19 at 12 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on FloCollege.
