Northeastern fell to Big Sky member Montana State 3-0 (30-28, 30-20, 30-27)on the opening day of the Ohio State Buckeye Classic Friday afternoon at St. John Arena. MSU's Megan Zanto posted a match-high 13 kills and Whitney Turner paced the Huskies (4-5)with a match-high 19 digs.
Turner, who has recorded double-digit kills in the previous eight matches for Northeastern, was limited to nine in the contest. Kira Batura and Larissa Adomat joined Turner with nine kills as the Huskies turned in their second-lowest attack percentage of the season with a .109 mark.
Angela Wiebe joined Zanto in double-digit kills with 11 as the Bobcats (7-2) garnered a .240 attack mark.
The Huskies will take on No. 25 Ohio State tonight at 7 p.m. The round-robin tournament concludes tomorrow afternoon as NU faces Florida International at 4:30 p.m.
