Sophomore Whitney Turner recorded her second straight match with double-digit kills with 13 as the volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to host UC Irvine on the opening day of the Nike/Holiday Inn Sunset Classic Friday at Crawford Court.
Turner led the Huskies (0-2) with 13 kills and senior libero Ashley Adamczyk tallied a match-high 18 digs in the contest.
NU is slated to face George Washington at 2:30 p.m., followed by William & Mary at 5 p.m.
