Northeastern hosted the Solomon Husky Invitational in rainy conditions on Saturday at Solomon Track in Dedham, Mass. The meet is named in honor of Bernard "Bunny" Solomon, a longtime NU supporter and fan.
Northeastern got a pair of wins in the meet – junior Nate Hunter won the shot put with a throw of 60'2.5 and sophomore Dan Brooks won the triple jump with a leap of 39'9.75. Brooks also placed second in the long jump at 18'7.25.
On the track, Daniel Grant placed second in the 1,500 in 4:07.27 and Sebastian Putzeys took fifth in 4:13.45. Mike Marston placed fourth in the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:03.77 and took fourth in the pole vault with a height of 12'6.
Besides Hunter in the throws, Bamidele Faboyede took second in the hammer with a throw of 184'2 and Patrick Jablonski placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 42'6. Northeastern alum Vinny Tortorella won the hammer with a throw of 201'1.
