The Northeastern men's and women's cross country program released its 2010 schedule as announced by head coach Sherman Hart on Tuesday. The Huskies will contend in four regular-season races with an additional four postseason races scheduled through the end of November.

The men's distance team finished fourth at the CAA Championship in 2009, marking its best performance since joining the conference. The women claimed seventh led by Kristen Martin's 25th-place time of 22:27.72 (6K) to outrun 81 other athletes.

As a freshman last season, John Jantz finished with NU's best time twice in six races, indicating a strong nucleus for the Huskies' distance squad in 2010. Senior Annie Scully finished with Northeastern's best mark in four of the five races she entered and looks to close out her cross country career on a high note.

This year, both the men's and women's team open the 2010 campaign at the Bryant College Invitational in Smithfield, R.I. on Friday, Sept. 3. The event is schedule to go off at 3 p.m.

The following Saturday, the Huskies return to their home course of Franklin Park to outlast the Boston College Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m.

Northeastern stays instate for a run at UMass Dartmouth on Saturday, Sept. 18. The run in Dartmouth, Mass. is scheduled for 10 a.m.

The CCSU Ted Owens Invitational in New Britain, Conn. closes out the regular-season portion on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m.

Franklin Park hosts the New England Championship once again on Saturday, Oct. 9 at noon. At least year's event, the women outran 38 other teams en route to an 11th-place team finish. Last season, the men's contingent posted a 21st-place performance, beating out 26 other clubs.

UNC Wilmington will host this year's conference championship on Saturday, Oct. 30. The conglomeration of CAA teams is scheduled to run at 10 a.m.

The NCAA Regional Championship will be contested at Hammonnaset Park in Madison, Conn. on Saturday, Nov. 13. In last year's event, the men took home a 19th-place team finish while the women turned in a 24th-place effort on the muddy tracks of Franklin Park.

The 2010 NCAA Championship will be staged in Terre Haute, Ind. on Monday, Nov. 22.
