The Northeastern men's track & field team raced amongst itself at Franklin Park on Saturday as part of the Northeastern Invitational while two student-athletes from Lesley College and a member of the NU Club squad joined the Huskies in the season opener.

Twelve Huskies ran on Saturday while junior John Jantz took top honors with a time of 26:30 as part of the 8K challenge. Senior Nick Ryan turned in the same time, but finished just a step behind Jantz for second place. Classmate Sebasiten Putzeys made his return from a redshirt season and notched a third-place jaunt just one second off the lead in 26:31.

Rookie Zachary Fraeilli showed early promise with a fourth-place march of 26:31 while sophomore Eric Jenkins closed in with the rest of the cluster at 26:32 for fifth place. Classmate Brian Doyle posted the same mark for sixth place.

Senior Joe Siravo kicked out a clip of 26:47 for seventh place while newcomer Stephen Sollowin crossed the line in 27:03 for eighth. Junior Chris Mentas picked up ninth for his time of 29:21 while first-year harrier Conor Lyons made the 8K march in 29:25 for 10th.
