DAY 2
The Northeastern men's track & field team finished in ninth place at the 2012 New England Indoor Championship on Saturday; fueled by sophomore
Eric Jenkins' victory in the mile at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center.
The Huskies totaled 29 points as the University of Connecticut won its seventh-consecutive New England Indoor Championship with an aggregate of 118.5 points.
Jenkins continued to write his storybook career at Northeastern as the Portsmouth, N.H. native became the Huskies eighth New England Indoor mile champion in program history and the first since 1995. Jenkins' 10-point time was the second-fastest jaunt in Northeastern history at the New England Indoor Championship. Erik Nedeau owned the fastest clip set in 1993 (3:59.68), which was the school record until Jenkins broke the record two weeks ago with a time of 3:59.18.
