Official resultsBOSTON – The men's and women's cross country teams competed against some of the nation's elite cross country programs at the Battle In Beantown on Saturday finishing ninth and 17th overall at the event.

The two top finishers for the Huskies were
Lucy Young and
Zachary Fraielli, both cracked the Top-45 overall.
Â
The day started with the women's race at 3 p.m. Young, who finished with a time of 17:50, good for 34th-place, paced the Huskies. This is the second straight season that the sophomore has been at the head of the pack for Northeastern. Trailing just behind her was
Jordan O'Dea who finished 52nd overall with a time of 18:06.

The five other qualifying runners for the Huskies were
Kerri Ruffo, who finished 110th overall crossing the finish line in 18 minutes and 55 seconds;
Madeline Bradford, who completed the 5k in 19:08, finished 119th overall; Corrine Myers clocked in next for the Huskies at the 19:10 mark, good for 120th overall; Daphne Apostoldis finished with a time of 20:30 to take home 142nd place; and
Kaitlin Plecinoga finished 144th overall with a time of 22:47.

Michigan finished in first-place with a score of 55. Behind the Wolverines were the Bulldogs of Georgetown who finished with a score of 77.

On the men's side, Northeastern earned a ninth-place finish with a score of 297. Fraielli, who earned CAA runner of the week earlier this month, took home 42nd-place with a time of 25:17. The Providence, Rhode Island native has now finished two cross country events as the top Husky this season.

Behind Fraielli was Zach Krause, who came in 52nd crossing the finish line at the 25:28 mark.
John Schilkowsky,
Stephen Sollowin, and
Charles Conway all crossed the finish line with time of 25:52, 25:54, and 25:56 for 67th, 69th, and 70th overall.

Oregon finished first at the Battle In Beantown with a score of 24. Syracuse took home second-place, while Providence earned third-place.

The Huskies will stay at home for the next two weeks as they prepare for the New England Championships. That event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m.

Following the New England Championships, NU will compete at the CAA Championships on November 1. This season, the Huskies are hosting the CAA Championships at Franklin Park.Â
