BOSTON -- The Track and Field program wrapped up a stellar weekend at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Saturday, Jan. 31, as multiple Huskies set new personal bests, as well as program records. More than five competitors also etched their names onto the all-time performance list with outstanding individual times.

All in all, 18 student-athletes met the IC4A/ECAC indoor qualifying standards, while 10 Huskies recorded new personal bests. Fourteen members of the team secured top ten finishes as well.

The Classic opened on Friday with the women competing all day in different events. Several members of the team shined at the Classic, including
Jacilyn Briggs, who set a new personal record in the pole vault with a mark of 4.00 meters, good for first place.Â

Along with Briggs,
Camille Gooden,
Lucy Young,
Jessica Dunnigan and
Kate Johnstone had outstanding performances. Gooden ran the third fastest time in program history in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:14.86. Young set a new personal record in the 5000-meters completing it in just 16:35.69, while Dunnigan and Myers both bested their previous performances in the 400-meters and mile run with times of 58.51 and 4:51.49, respectively. Johnstone's time is the third fastest in program history.

Jordan O'Dea improved on her previous best time in the 5000-meters, this time finishing the event in just 17:01.74. For the women's field events,
Zoe Taitel continued her improvement, setting a new PR in the shot put with a mark of 12.87 meters.

On Saturday, it was the men's turn to compete.
Paul Duffey stole the show when he ran the fastest 800-meters in program history, completing his run in just 1:48.02. Duffey won the event and has continued to be a strong competitor for the Huskies throughout the indoor season.

Joining Duffey in success was
Anthony Pavlich and
Donovan Henry. Pavlich recorded a new PB in the 500-meter dash, finishing 12th with a time of 1:04.79; Henry upped his previous best performance in the 400-meter dash, ending his sprint in just 48.46 seconds.

In the field events,
Ryan Kim shined in the shot put, posting a new PR of 16.23 meters, while his fellow thrower
James Hall also set a new best in the weight throw with a mark of 17.87 meters.

Kyle Darrow dominated the long jump, fishing second overall with a jump of 7.29 meters, also a new personal best.

A list of highlights and results from Northeastern can be found below. The Huskies are back in action on Friday, Feb. 6, when the team heads to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to compete in the Harvard Fast Meet. The next day, on Saturday, Feb. 7, select student-athletes will compete in the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, held at the Reggie Lewis Center.
