DURHAM, N.H. – A resurgence of offensive play by the Northeastern men's soccer team during the second half was overshadowed by a pair of goals coming in quick succession from the home side as the Huskies were defeated, 3-0, by New Hampshire on Wednesday night at Wildcat Stadium.
Â
Limited to two shots and none on goal during the opening 45 minutes, NU rebounded and attempted nine shots during the remainder of the match, despite not finding the back of the net. Entering as a halftime reserve,
Khori Bennett fueled three shots for Northeastern (2-5-0), having his best chance saved during the 64th minute.
Â
Chris Arling scored two goals for New Hampshire (7-1-0), increasing his team lead to seven and sandwiching them around Jack Dickson's goal during the 51st minute. Arling's second goal of the match came six minutes after Dickson's, putting the Wildcats in front by three with a half hour to play.
Â
Matt Dabrowski stifled three shots before UNH was able to sneak one by during the 18th minute. The freshman goalkeeper ultimately closed the first half with five saves and finished the match with seven, tying his season high.
