Beanpot (General Public)
BOSTON – Calling all Northeastern students: your chance to reserve a seat to the 2017 Beanpot is on Saturday, January 21 when the Huskies host their annual Beanpot student ticket sale in Matthews Arena following the women's hockey game against Connecticut.
Tickets cost $30 for corner balcony and $42 in center balcony, and includes admission to both nights of the tournament (February 6 and February 13). All students must have their NUID's present, and there is a limit of one ticket per student with a valid NUID. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. For more information, please email
Huskytix@northeastern.edu.
Doors will open to the women's hockey game at 2 p.m. at Matthews Arena on Saturday. Students will receive a voucher with their group number upon entering the building, and will be called up by group to purchase their Beanpot tickets at the conclusion of the game. Vouchers will stop being distributed at the end of the second period, and any student without a voucher will have to wait until all groups are called to purchase their ticket.
In addition, students who bring their ticket or receipt from last weekend's Frozen Fenway game to the Beanpot ticket sale will receive a Northeastern knit hat, while supplies last.
Northeastern faculty and staff are also welcome to purchase a ticket at this sale with a valid Northeastern ID, and tickets for the general public can be purchased through the TD Garden Box Office.
The Huskies kickoff the 65th Beanpot with a semifinal matchup with No. 6 Harvard on February 6 at 5 p.m. Northeastern is 20-23 all-time against the Crimson in the tournament, including wins in the last two meetings and four of the last five overall. The two teams last met in the Beanpot in last year's consolation, a 5-1 win for Northeastern that began a program-record 13-game winning streak for the Huskies en route to the Hockey East Championship.
No. 10 Boston College and No. 3 Boston University will meet in the second semifinal at 8 p.m. The consolation and championship games will be held the following Monday, February 13, at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
Northeastern has won four Beanpot championships in team history, most recently in 1988. Five Huskies have earned tournament MVP honors, most recently
Kevin Roy in 2013, while 13 goaltenders have won the Eberly Award for the highest tournament save percentage.
