BOSTON – Coming off a successful showing at last weekend's Head of the Charles, the Northeastern women's rowing team heads to Lake Carnegie on Sunday for the Princeton Chase. The Huskies have six boats entered in the three-mile chase, three in the open eight and three in the open four.
Racing gets underway at 9:30 a.m. with the eights race before the open fours go off at 11:30 a.m., however weather concerns could impact the Chase schedule. The Huskies are poised to go up against the likes of Virginia, Princeton, Brown, North Carolina and Duke, among several others.
Last time out
During a picture perfect fall weekend in Boston, all eyes were focused on the 53rd Head of the Charles Regatta, where under sunny skies and warm temperatures saw the Northeastern men's and women's rowing teams take to the infamous Charles River for the prestigious annual regatta.

The club eights, meanwhile, battled Radcliffe, Yale, Penn and Syracuse for top-five positioning, with the Huskies ultimately taking sixth overall with a time of 16:59.310 with

Northeastern launches HuskiesGoGlobal.com
Through the generous support from Janet and Lou Swanson, six varsity programs have traveled and competed abroad in the last two years to align with the department's goal of having all of its student-athletes participate in a global experience during their time at Northeastern. To learn more about all of the trips abroad, as well as upcoming trips for the department, please visit the newly launched
HuskiesGoGlobal.com.
HuskiesGoGlobal.com provides a recap and impactful testimonials about all of the department's foreign trips, from the men's rowing journey to Henley in 2013 all the way to the upcoming women's swimming and diving training trip to Dublin, Ireland this December. From Cuba to Northern Ireland to the United Kingdon and beyond, Northeastern Athletics is leaving its paw print all over the globe.
Most recently, the women's rowing made its first-ever trip to the prestigious Women's Henley Regatta in Great Britain this past June. In addition to the historic race on the River Thames, the team learned about British culture and history, stayed in the homes of Henley residents, and explored London.
"The group that went over became a much closer knit family," said head coach
Joe Wilhelm, "and I think that's going to carry over into this year. To see Northeastern be able to give that experience to our student-athletes was very special. The athletic department has really made an effort to make it more possible for our athletes to take trips like this, not just as a competitive experience but as an educational and cultural experience, as well."
The road ahead
The Huskies will close out the fall slate on Nov. 12 back in Boston at the Foot of the Charles.
