BOSTON – The Northeastern track and field team returned from the David Hemery Valentine Invitational with 11 top ten finishes. Additionally, a number of performances were within striking range of school records including Patrice Williams' 400 meter run that earned her fourth out of over 150 competitors and and Paul Duffey's career best 3:59.30 in the mile that placed second overall and first among NCAA athletes.
 
Other notable performances from the women included the 4 x 400 relay team that placed 9^th of over 50 competitors with a time of 3:49.46. The team consisted of sophomores Patrice Williams and Katie Hanlon, junior Audrey Weyand and anchoring the crew was sophomore Amy Piccolo.
 
In the field events, Northeastern women placed in the top 25 of each contest including a 2^nd place finish in the high jump from Paige Suse (1.70m) and a 7^th place finish in the weight throw from Erica Belvit (16.89m)
 
The women set the tone for the men who hit the track on day two of BU's annual meet. In addition to Paul Duffey's record performance, rookie Naukym Morton took second of over 120 competitors in the 60m dash clocking 6.80, good for the top time of NCAA racers. Morton set a new school record in the race last weekend with a time of 6.78.
 
In the 400, 500 and 800 meter races, Chris Jewett, Austin Lin and Marc Rienas finished 14^th, 8^th and 7^th respectively against over 200 athletes in each event. Jewett raced to a 48.38 finish, Lin clocked 1:04.81
 
In the field, Ryan Kim took second overall in the shot put, throwing 17.15m. Freshman Travis Kartz earned sixth place in the pole vault, clearing 4.70m.
