Beanpot student tickets to go on sale this Sunday!

BOSTON – As the Northeastern men's ice hockey team vies to bring the Beanpot championship trophy to Huntington Avenue for the first time in 30 years, Northeastern students are invited to reserve their spot to cheer them on.

The Huskies will host their annual Beanpot student ticket sale in Matthews Arena this Sunday, Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students must present their NUIDs at the ticket window and are limited to one ticket per person with a valid NUID.

Tickets cost $30 in the corner balcony and $42 in the center balcony and include admission to both nights of the Beanpot tournament, held at TD Garden. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

Faculty and staff with a valid Northeastern ID are also invited to purchase a ticket during this sale. Tickets for the general public are available through the TD Garden Box Office.

No. 8/9 Northeastern will kick off the 66th annual Beanpot tournament on Monday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. against No. 16 Boston College. Northeastern is 1-1 against Boston College this season and 10-34 against the Eagles in all-time Beanpot matchups, with their most recent tournament victory coming during last winter's consolation game.

Boston University and Harvard will face off at 8 p.m. The tournament will pick up again the following Monday, Feb. 12, with the consolation game at 4:30 p.m. followed by championship play at 7:30 p.m.

The most recent of the team's four Beanpot victories came in 1988 when Northeastern defeated Boston University 6-3. Five Huskies have been named tournament MVP, with the last being Kevin Roy (2013) and 13 goalkeepers have won the tournament's Eberly Award, presented to the goalkeeper with the highest tournament save percentage.
