Elon, N.C. -- The Northeastern (13-11, 6-5) volleyball team secured their second season sweep of 2018 over Elon (13-10, 4-7) on Friday evening, 3-0.
An 11-3 scoring run in the first set gave the Howlin' Huskies a major lead in points and momentum, securing their first set win, 25-15. The second set proved closer for the Phoenix as they kept the score within three, giving NU a run for their money. However, the Huskies eventually pulled slightly ahead for a 25-23 set two victory. The momentum carried the Huskies far ahead of the Phoenix in set three, securing their sweep with a 25-12 win.
Gabby Tschannen tabbed a season-high 10 blocks over the Phoenix along with two kills.
Hannah Boyd's 12 kills led the Huskies' offense for a .379 clip.
