Williamsburg, VA -- The Northeastern (14-11, 7-5) volleyball team topped William & Mary (5-16, 1-11) for their third straight win on Sunday afternoon, 3-0.
Natalie Shollin's hitting carved the path for the Huskies' offense, tabbing 12 kills and a .500 clip. Three aces by
Gabrielle Tschannen and
Clare Lund added to the Howlin Huskies' fire as the dominated the service line.
Samantha Shupe set up the Husky hitters' offense with 36 assists.
Despite the Tribe pulling ahead with a 6-0 start in the first set, the Huskies were able to minimize the damage and come back to defeat the Tribe 27-25 in the first set. The second set looked much like the first with a close match until an 8-2 scoring run by the Huskies put them far ahead to win set two by the largest margin of 25-18. The final set proved easy for NU as they were able to secure the match with a 25-20 third set win.
