BOSTON – Competing in the prestigious 55th annual Head of the Charles regatta, held along the Charles River during the weekend of Oct. 19 and Oct. 20, the Northeastern men's and women's rowing teams made their mark against an elite field of the world's best collegiate and club programs.
An annual fall occasion in Boston, the world-famous Head of the Charles regatta was launched by Northeastern's first rowing head coach, Erine Arlett, in 1965. The event features a three-mile course that hooks through Cambridge and draws more than 300,000 spectators each year.

MEN'S RESULTS
Northeastern scored two top-15 finishes during Saturday's Men's Club Eights classification, won by Harvard with its time of 14:36.116.

Spencer Brennessel stroked the Huskies' Club A boat, which placed seventh in the 39-boat field (15:07.731), immediately ahead of eight-place Boston University (15:08.417). Northeastern's Club B boat, stroked by
Gerry Johnson, finished in 11th place (15:17.013), edging 12th-place MIT (15:19.366) at the line.

On Sunday, the Huskies entered two crews into the Men's Championship Eights division, highlighted by USTC-Oakland's one-two photo finish – a 0.670-second margin of victory behind the winning time (13:32.283).

Jasper Angl sat in the stroke seat for Northeastern's Championship A crew, which placed 11th (13:59.269) in the 30-boat field, defeating 12th-place Boston University (14:03.567). The Huskies' Championship B crew finished 22nd overall (14:29.296) with
Elias Kun in the stroke seat, outperforming Wisconsin (14:30.177) and Pennsylvania (14:33.483).

WOMEN'S RESULTSÂ
Northeastern rowed to a top-25 finish in Saturday's Women's Club Eights classification, led by the champion Potomac club (16:36.662) and the top collegiate finisher, Yale (16:42.863). Isabelle Gerber stroked the Huskies through an aggressive start and overall course time of 18:48.477, helping NU defeat fellow collegiate foes Penn State (19:44.691) and Illinois (19:53.924).

Competing in Sunday's Women's Championship Fours division, the Huskies finished in 12th place as
Margaret Allen stroked NU to the time of 18:48.477. Washington prevailed with its first-place time of 17:33.168 while Northeastern outperformed regional foes Rhode Island (19:03.873) and Radcliffe (19:47.767).

The Huskies completed their regatta with a top-20 finish in the Women's Championship Eights classification. With
Helaina Howe in the stroke seat, Northeastern placed 20th with a time of 16:12.745, defeating the Michigan Championship B boat (16:14.617) and Boston University (16:15.993).
