BOSTON– The 2019 home season continues on Friday night when the Northeastern field hockey team plays host to Dartmouth at Dedham Field before the Huskies head across town to face Boston University on Sunday afternoon.

1. Taking a look at the competition

 
HUSKIES VS. THE BIG GREEN
• Northeastern and Dartmouth will meet for the second-straight season after the Huskies picked up a 5-1 victory in Hanover last season
• The Huskies own a 14-2 series lead over the Big Green with their last loss coming in the 1987 season
• Northeastern has won 11-straight over Dartmouth, who marks the first and only Ivy League opponent of the season for the Huskies after facing three Ivies the last two seasons
• Last year's 5-1 victory was highlighted by a pair of goals from Camille O'Conor
• Friday's game will be Dartmouth's season opener
 
A DOGFIGHT IN BOSTON
• Northeastern and Boston University have met 49 times in the past with the Huskies holding a 26-23 series lead
• The two teams have met in each of Northeastern's 38 seasons as a varsity program, including in the season opener last season
• In 2018, the Huskies held BU scoreless in the second half, but fell 4-1 to the Terriers with Shawn Davenport netting the lone NU goal of the game in the 51st minute
• The Huskies are looking to snap a four-game losing streak to the Terriers
• The Terriers are 1-1 on the season thus far earning a 4-1 victory over Ohio and falling 3-2 to #14 Ohio State last weekend on the road
• They will face New Hampshire on Friday night before taking on the Huskies on Sunday afternoon
 

2. The last time out

 
• Northeastern opened the season 2-0 for the first time since 2016 picking up a pair of victories over Holy Cross and Monmouth
• The Huskies shut out the Crusaders 3-0 on Friday night thanks to goals from Alli Meehan, Lauren Brewster and Camille O'Conor
• Northeastern put up another trio of goals on Sunday behind the offense of O'Conor, Lauren Rowe and Meehan, who netted the walkoff game-winner in overtime
 

3. Rookie Success

• After a 2-0 opening weekend for the Huskies, freshman Alli Meehan was honored by the CAA earning Rookie of the Week accolades
• Meehan netted both of the game winning goals for the Huskies and finished with a four-point weekend
• In addition to Meehan's weekend, her classmate Lauren Rowe had an outstanding Husky debut
• Rowe finished the weekend with six points picking up one goal and three assists in her first two games in the Red and Black
• Rowe had a two-assist outing against Holy Cross Friday night while tallying her first career goal on Sunday against Monmouth, and adding another helper on the game-winning goal in overtime
