Caitlin Schweihofer named volleyball coach at Rutgers

BOSTON – Caitlin Schweihofer has been named the head volleyball coach at Rutgers University, as announced on Thursday. A national search for her replacement will commence immediately.

"We wish Caitlin well as she moves on to the Big Ten and Rutgers," said Northeastern director of athletics and recreation Jeff Konya. "We will work hard on finding a leader that will enhance the student-athlete experience at Northeastern University for a team that is very passionate about their athletics and academic performance."

Schweihofer became Northeastern's 10th head coach in January 2019 after serving five seasons in the same role at La Salle, where she was named the 2018 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.

Under Schweihofer's leadership, the Huskies achieved a 15-14 (9-7 CAA) record during the 2019 season, finishing fourth in the CAA regular season standings and earning the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament.

With Schweihofer at the helm, the Huskies won the 2019 Seton Hall Classic championship with an undefeated record, featuring a five-set victory against Northern Arizona (RPI No. 126). NU also defeated Harvard for the first time since 2016.
