BOSTON – Chasing the program's first CAA postseason title, the fifth-seeded Northeastern women's basketball team is ready to run the table this week as it descends on the 2020 CAA Women's Basketball Championship presented by Sonabank, as hosted by Elon at the Schar Center in Elon, North Carolina. NU will open the conference tournament in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, March 12, when the Huskies will meet fourth-seeded Towson at 2:30 p.m. All CAA tournament games will air live on FloHoops.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1.
Huskies' 2019-20 Award Class:Â Northeastern celebrated two year-end CAA honorees during Tuesday's presentation of the league's Postseason Awards Show. Sophomore forward
Alexis Hill appeared on both the All-CAA Second Team and the CAA All-Defensive Team while senior guard
Shannon Todd became the Huskies' first female recipient of the prestigious Dean Ehlers Leadership Award. Hill enters the CAA tournament as one of six players who rank among the conference's top 15 scorers (13.1 points per game) and top 10 rebounders (6.4 per game) while her 2.5-steal average ranks among the top 30 NCAA Division I players. Todd, a community mentor and master's degree candidate with a 3.5 GPA, heads into the postseason averaging 9.7 points per game (10.2 points per CAA game) and leading NU with 55 3-point field goals.

2.
Fab Five: Despite being relegated to the No. 5 seed by a tiebreaker, Northeastern tied its program record for best CAA regular season finish (fourth place) for the third time overall and the second time during the last three seasons. The Huskies are seeking their third CAA semifinal berth since 2016 – all achieved during
Kelly Cole's head coaching tenure – and their first-ever title game appearance during their 15th season in the league.

3.
Quarterfinal Preview:Â Northeastern split its regular season series against its CAA quarterfinal foe, Towson. After receiving the 81-68 defeat from the Tigers at SECU Arena in January, the Huskies scored a Senior Day victory on their home floor in February, sporting the 66-63 win at Cabot Center. Thursday's quarterfinal game will mark the fourth postseason meeting between Northeastern and Towson and the first since the opening round of the 2001 America East tournament (NU is 2-1 all-time).
