BOSTON - Northeastern (0-0) opens their season this weekend with non-conference foes UMass (0-1) on Friday and Bryant (0-1) on Sunday from Dedham Field and streamed on NUHuskies.com.

LOOKING BACK AT 2019
Northeastern returns after a successful 2019 season. The Huskies finished with an 11-8 overall record and 3-3 conference record. This was their best finish since the 2014 season and they made their fourth consecutive CAA tournament appearance as the third seed. Northeastern defeated No. 23 William and Mary 1-0 to advance to their first championship game since 2013. Northeastern finished the season ranking first in the CAA for scoring average (2.96), goals scored (57), goals per game (3.00), and goals off of corners (14). Nationally, the Huskies ranked seventh in scoring average and eighth in goals per game.

RETURNING TALENT
The Huskies enter this season with a slew of returning talent, including 2019 CAA Rookie of the Year Lauren Rowe. Rowe finished the season first in the CAA for points (43), tied for first in goals (16). Nationally, she ranked sixth in points per game (2.26) and eleventh in goals per game (0.84). In addition to Rookie of the Year, Rowe was named to the 2019 All-CAA First Team, 2019 CAA All-Rookie Team, 2019-20 ECAC Rookie of the Year and the 2019-20 All-ECAC Team. Other main contributors returning are senior captain, Melanie Weber and junior captain, Lexie Dunleavy. Weber, who served as a junior captain in 2019, has appeared in every game since her freshman season and has started every game in the past two seasons. Dunleavy has also played in every game in her first two seasons and started every game for the Huskies in 2019. Dunleavy was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team in 2018 and to the CAA All-Tournament Team in 2019.

SCOUTING UMASS
The Minutemen finished the 2019 season 10-10 and return with six of their top scorers from 2019. Sophomore Jess Beach led the team in scoring last season with six goals and two assists and was named to the 2019 Atlantic 10 All-Championship team. UMass opened the season with a 3-1 loss to New Hampshire last Friday.

SCOUTING BRYANT
Northeastern played Bryant last season and Lexie Dunleavey had the game-winner in the 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs. Bryant ended the 2019 campaign 2-17 and fell to UMass Lowell 3-0 in their lone game so far this season. Marijn Jaarsma returns to the Bulldogs in the cage after posting a career 2.57 GAA and a .753 save percentage. The junior from the Netherlands has played over 2,000 minutes during her time at Bryant.
