COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Cam Lund of the Northeastern men's hockey team was named to the 2023 U.S. National Junior Team preliminary roster, as announced by USA Hockey today.
The training camp will take place in Plymouth, Mich., at USA Hockey Arena on Dec. 12-17. The final team roster, to be announced after camp, will head to Halifax and Moncton, Canada where Team USA will play two exhibition games (Dec. 19 and 21), ahead of the IIHF World Junior Championship, which will take place from Dec. 26-Jan. 5.
This marks Lund's first call up to represent Team USA on the international stage.
The Bridgewater, Mass. native is off to a strong start for the Huskies this season, posting five goals and seven assists for 12 points through 16 games. In his debut season as a Husky, Lund has already tabbed a Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honor after recording his first career hat trick for a four-point weekend against Boston College.
Lund and the Huskies are back in action with a single Tuesday night (Dec. 6) contest against Sacred Heart, beginning at 7 p.m. at Total Mortgage Arena.
