Huskies Set To Face #3 Campbell In CAA Quarterfinals

BOSTON – The six-seed Northeastern volleyball team (11-13, 9-9 CAA) is set to take on three-seed Campbell (16-12, 13-5 CAA) in the CAA tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, November 16. First serve is slated for 6:30 p.m. and will stream on FloVolleyball.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. POSTSEASON HONORS: Graduate student middle blocker Anabel Zier was named to the All-CAA Second Team, and freshman outside hitter Abby Reck garnered All-Rookie Team accolades, announced by the league ahead of the tournament. Zier, is second on the Huskies with 200 total kills, averaging 2.22 per set. The Blacksburg, Virginia native is also fifth in the CAA with a .351 hitting percentage. Reck, is first on the squad with 251 total kills, averaging 2.82 per set. The freshman also notched double-digit kills in 12 matches this season, highlighted by 20 in a thrilling four-set win over Northern Colorado. 
  2. LAST TIME OUT VS. CAMPBELL: The Huskies and Camels last met on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22 in Buies Creek, with Campbell taking both matches in straight sets. Zier tallied seven kills for Northeastern in the first match, and Reck notched 14 kills in the weekend finale.
  3. DOUBLE-TROUBLE: Graduate student outside hitter Julianna Truscott has been stellar for the Huskies on both offense and defense this season. Truscott has five double-doubles, highlighted by a season-high 13 kills against Elon on September 30. The graduate student also tallied double-digit digs in 10 matches.
The winner of this match will face #2 Delaware in the semifinals on Friday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m.
