BRONX, N.Y. — The Northeastern men's and women's cross country teams are hitting the road to New York for the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 10 at Van Cortlandt Park. The women will run the 6K at 11 a.m. while the men will compete in the 10K at 12 p.m.
The top two teams at the meet and the top four individuals will qualify for the NCAA Championships at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. That meet would take place Saturday, Nov. 18.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

MOST OUTSTANDING PERFORMERS – After their recent performances at the CAA Championships, senior Abigail Hassman and junior Benjamin Godish earned Most Outstanding Performer honors at the meet. Hassman won the meet, finishing the 6K with a time of 21:03.5, being the only Northeastern runner to ever win a CAA Championship two years in a row. Godish earned his first CAA Championship win with a time of 24:06.4 in the 10K.

CAPPING OFF THE CAA CHAMPS – On the women's side, Senior Azza Borovicka-Swanson finished in sixth place at the CAA Championships just a few weeks back, earning All-CAA honors with a time of 21:21.3. Senior Ava Duggan finished in 22nd place (22:01.9), with senior Isa Meyers in 24th (22:02.6), and freshman Natasha Sortland in 25th (22:02.9). For the men, Patrick Cullen took the All-CAA honors running a time of 24:25.0 and earning a fourth place finish. Senior Patrick Mullen finished in fifth, 0.3 seconds behind Cullen, also earning All-CAA honors. Senior Malav Mehta finished 19th (25:15.1) and senior Tyler Brogan came in 20th (25:20.2).

THIS TIME LAST YEAR – The Huskies saw plenty of best times in Northeastern history at last year's Regionals. Hassman posted a 13th place finish in the 6K with a time of 20:57.4, the third best in program history and a program-best in the NCAA Regional round. Meyers followed behind in 23rd with a time of 21:08.9 with the fourth best time in program history, while Borovicka-Swanson placed 37th with a time of 21:22.8 and the fifth best time in program history. Tessa McClain and Vivian McMahon earned a top ten time in Northeastern history as well, with times of 21:33.3 and 21:44.4, respectively. The women placed fifth overall while the men finished in eighth. Godish finished 21st in the 10K, with a time of 30:00.9, the fourth best finish in Northeastern history. Three current Huskies – Hassman, Meyers, and Godish – were named to the All-Region team.
If they qualify, the Huskies will travel to Panorama Farms in Earlysville, VA on Saturday, Nov. 18 for the NCAA Championships.
