BOSTON – The Northeastern volleyball team is set to open the 2023 season at the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday, August 25 through Saturday, August 26. The Huskies are slated to face Toledo at 10 a.m. on Friday, followed by Grand Canyon University at 4 p.m. Northeastern will then take on host Wake Forest on Saturday at 5 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. 2022 REWIND: The Huskies finished with a 14-13 overall record and went 10-6 in CAA play. Northeastern entered the conference tournament as the four-seed and was highlighted by a four-set win over five-seed Elon. The victory was the Huskies' first quarterfinal win since 2013.
  2. FRESH FACES: Northeastern welcomed the additions of five freshmen and three transfers to the roster this season. Kaylin Daniels, Abby Reck, Ava Wallis, Leilani Gillespie, and Tessa Onaga look to make their collegiate debuts, and graduate student transfers Inbal Peleg, Anabel Zier, and Julianna Truscott look to make their debuts in a Husky uniform.
  3. APPROACHING 1,500: Junior setter Jessica Frannea is approaching 1,500 career assists with 1,345. Frannea finished the 2022 season with 966 assists, averaging 9.86 per set. The junior also had six double-doubles, highlighted by a career-high 58 assists and 12 digs in a win over Stony Brook.
After Wake Forest, the Huskies will head to the Bryant Invitational on Friday, September 1 through Saturday, September 2.
