THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- WONDERFUL WINNING WAYS — The Huskies have found another gear in the last two weeks, collecting three straight wins. The team started with a 6-3 victory over 2023 America East Regular Season Champions, UMass Lowell, before earning their first CAA win against reigning CAA tournament champions William & Mary by a score of 4-1. Northeastern's most recent victory came this past Sunday, when the Huskies took down New Hampshire in a 3-2 thriller in Durham. It is the longest winning streak for the team since the beginning of the 2023 season, when the team rode a four-game winning streak.
- JUST ROWE-ING ALONG — Graduate student captain Lauren Rowe continues to impress on the field, earning her second straight CAA Offensive Player of the Week award, the first of any CAA field hockey player to do so this season. She followed up last weekend with two impact performances against William & Mary and New Hampshire, collecting a goal and an assist in both games to lead the Huskies to victories, including her 38th career assist on Sunday to rank her fifth all-time in program history in career assists, further cementing her legacy as a Husky.
- LOOK AROUND THE LEAGUE — As we reach the midway point of conference play, Northeastern ranks highly in multiple categories. After three weeks, the team finds themselves in third place in the CAA field hockey standings, sitting just behind Drexel and Delaware and one spot above preseason favorites Monmouth. Looking at the overall statistics, the Huskies rank first in corners (80) and second in goals for (26) and shots (160). Individually, Rowe ranks first in the CAA in shots (57) and points (21) and is tied for first with fellow Husky Emmy Stubbs in goals (8). Stubbs is also tied for second in the conference in points (16), while senior Maria Armaganian ranks first in assists (6), followed by Rowe (5), graduate student Caroline Sweeney (4), and sophomore Alex Mega (4).
Northeastern stays on the road to take on the Delaware Blue Hens for a CAA game on Friday, Oct. 18, at 5 p.m. before returning to Dedham to take on the Maine Black Bears on Sunday, Oct. 20 for Senior Day. The game with Delaware can be streamed on FloSports, and Sunday's battle at Boston University will be available on ESPN+.
