Northeastern Wraps Up First Day Of Competition At Boston Winter Open

BOSTON — Junior Hannah Seward opened up the Boston Winter Open at Boston University with a win Friday night as the Northeastern swim and dive team concluded the first session of the meet.
  • Seward touched the wall at 5:02.25 in the 500 Free, winning the event, and classmate Devon Muldoon finished second with a time of 5:06.42.
  • Freshman Joyce Wu was the top Husky finisher in the 200 IM, taking sixth with a time of 2:10.65.
  • Freshman Mary Nordmann won the 50-yard freestyle with a 23.62 time, just .08 seconds off her season-best.
  • Northeastern's quartet of senior Nikita Pelletier, sophomore Cambria Semmen, junior Francesca Arciniegas and senior Sofia Long finished second in the 400 Free Relay, touching the wall at 3:36.47.
  • Senior Lena Wang (5:30.01 – 500 Free), freshman Bella Busconi (2:15.36 – 200 IM) and sophomore Elisabeth Bendall (24.46 – 50 Free) all set personal bests.
The Huskies return to the pool Saturday, Feb. 10 for rounds two and three of the Winter Open. Coverage begins at 12 p.m. on ESPN Plus.
