Huskies Set To Host UNCW

BOSTON – The Northeastern volleyball team (2-6) is set to open CAA play at home this weekend, taking on UNCW (3-4) on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22. Both matches are slated for 2 p.m. and will stream on FloVolleyball.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. SEEING DOUBLE – Brynn Smith made her collegiate debut against Loyola Chicago on Saturday and had a performance to remember. Playing in front of her home crowd, the Long Grove, Illinois native tallied a double-double with a game-high 13 kills on .393 hitting with 10 digs.
  2. IN THE CAA RANKS - Nadia Koanui ranks first in the conference with 133 digs, averaging 4.49 per set. The Huskies also have three represented in the conference top 10 in blocks as Millie Loehr is second with 38 blocks (1.31 per set), Georgia Stavrinides ranks fifth with 32 blocks (1.10 per set), and Beatrice Gennari is seventh with 25 blocks (1.09 per set).
  3. SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS - The Seahawks are coming off a split weekend at their home invitational, taking down Gardner-Webb in straight sets and then fell to Charlotte in four sets. UNCW averages 11.7 kills per set, and on offense are led by A'siya Magazine who has 45 total kills (2.25 per set).
After UNCW, the Huskies will hit the road to face North Carolina A&T on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28.
