Huskies Host Charleston For A Pair Of Conference Matches

BOSTON - The Northeastern volleyball team is back in Cabot this weekend, for a pair of conference games against Charleston. The Huskies' first match will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 on FloCollege. The second match will be on Sunday, October 19, with a celebration of Breaking Barriers at 12 p.m. on NESN and FloCollege. 
 

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. CHARLESTON VS. NORTHEASTERN HISTORY - Charleston holds a 15-8 record over the Huskies, with their latest meeting coming in November last season, where the Cougars swept the Huskies in two (3-1, 3-0). Brynn Smith tallied nine kills in the matches. 

2. SEASON STAT LEADERS - Freshman Emma Rowell has become the Huskies' go-to attack, registering a team-high 159 kills. Middle-hitter Beatrice Gennari leads the team with 62.0 blocks this season, averaging 1.03 per set. On the passing front, first-year Sofia King leads Northeastern with 288 total assists thus far. Senior Nadia Koanui has been a force holding down the back-court tabbing a team high 256 digs, 4.20 per set on a .957 percentage. 

3. CAA STAT LEADER BOARD - Junior Beatrice Gennari (No. 1) continues to lead the conference in hitting percentage, with a .444 clip. Gennari is ranked ninth in NCAA Division I volleyball with this statistic. The junior has the highest registered attack percentage in the 2025 CAA season with a 0.8 against Stony Brook on Sept. 20. Gennari has moved into the fourth slot of blocks per set in the CAA, averaging 1.04. First-year Sofia King has moved into the seventh spot in assists per set with an average of 5.88. As a team, the Huskies are No. 2 in hitting percentage (.242), No. 3 in average opponent digs (13340), No. 3 in blocks per set (2.25), and No. 3 in assists per set (12.33). The Huskies have moved into the seventh slot in the conference, fighting for a ticket to the playoffs within the top 6. 


Northeastern will take to the road next weekend, traveling to Williamsburg, Va., to face off against William & Mary. The Huskies will play two matches, with the first on Friday, October 24, and the second on Saturday, October 25 on FloCollege.
