BOSTON – The Northeastern volleyball team returns home this weekend for a conference series against Hampton. The Huskies will open the series on Sat., Nov. 1 at 1 p.m., followed by the second matchup on Sun., Nov. 2 at 12 p.m. Both days will be streamed on FloCollege.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. SCOUTING THE PIRATES – This weekend will mark the first-ever meeting between Northeastern and Hampton since the Pirates joined the CAA in July 2022. Hampton is led offensively by Racquel Frazier, who has tallied a team-high 178 kills this season, averaging 2.75 points per game and adding 12 aces. Defensively, Katerina Pappa leads the Pirates with 118, averaging 1.66 per game.
2. SEASON STAT LEADERS – Freshman Emma Rowell has emerged as the Huskies' primary offensive weapon, posting a team-high 208 kills this season. In the middle, junior Beatrice Gennari anchors the net with 73.0, averaging 0.96 per set. At the setter position, first-year Sofia King leads Northeastern with 359 assists.
3. SENIOR SUNDAY – This Sunday, Northeastern will honor its three seniors. Nadia Koanui has been a defensive force in the backcourt with 338 digs (4.45 per set) and a .962 passing percentage, while Svenja Rodenbüsch ranks second on the team with 162 kills, adding 12 assists and 14 service aces. Ellie Williams has contributed across the board with five assists, five services aces, and 13 digs, making a strong impact on both ends of the court.
The Huskies will then direct their attention to the following weekend as they hit the road for a CAA series at Campbell. Northeastern will face the Camels on Friday, November 7 (6 p.m.), followed by a Saturday, November 8 matchup (1 p.m.).
