No. 2 Huskies Take On No. 3 Drexel In CAA Semifinal

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. —The Northeastern Huskies field hockey team (9-8, 3-2 CAA) return to the CAA Semifinal for the fifth consecutive season, traveling to So Sweet A Cat Field at Monmouth University. The Huskies will take on the third-seeded Drexel Dragons (11-7, 3-2 CAA) Friday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. The match up will be streaming on FloSports.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. DEFENSIVE DAWGS: The Huskies have recently been faced with very strong offensives, allowing for our solid defense to play their role. Graduate student Arabella Loveridge has made 22 saves in the past two games. For the regular season, Loveridge sits at second in the CAA in the save percentage category, with 0.755%.
  2. CAA HISTORY: The Huskies have traveled to the CAA Tournament 15 times in program history, this trip marking the eighth in the past nine seasons. Northeastern has played in five CAA Championship games, but have yet to earn their first CAA Championship. The Huskies last made the final in 2019 but fell 2-1 to Delaware.
  3. ANOTHER DUEL WITH THE DRAGONS: Northeastern faces Drexel for the second time this season. The first match was a competitive one, with the Huskies exiting victorious, 1-0. Senior Emilia Adragna scored the game winner, assisted by fellow senior Emmy Stubbs. Entering the tournament as the No. 2 and No. 3 seed, its bound to be another thrilling game.
If the Huskies win Friday, they will then take on the winner of No. 1 Monmouth and No. 4 Hofstra, Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. in the CAA Championship game at So Sweet A Cat Field. That match up will be streaming on FloSports.
