Nicole Dunbury, Blair and Cole Break School Records In Saturdays Meets

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams concluded this weekend's action with the second day of the Harvard Crimson Elite and the BU Scarlet & White Invitational. 11 Huskies set new personal bests across both meets, with senior Nicole Dunbury and sophomores Savannah Blair and Camryn Cole setting new school records.

Harvard Crimson Elite:

  • Senior Paul Wisnaskas and freshman Casey Rockett concluded the men's heptathlon Saturday morning. Wisnaskas claimed seventh with a point total of 4,674. He also recorded a new personal best in the 60m hurdles (8.65) and pole vault (4.20m). Rockett accumulated 3,340 points over the seven events, with his best event coming in the 1000m.

Scarlet & White Invitational:

Track Events:

  • Freshman Ailani Sutherland and junior Abigail Thomas competed in the women's 60m prelims, with Sutherland running an 8.17 and Thomas an 8.24.
  • In the men's 60m prelim, sophomore Thomas Landry dashed to seventh after clocking a 6.97, qualifying him for the 60m final. He then ran a 6.98 in the final, finishing fourth.
  • The women's 800m saw N. Dunbury set a new school record and personal best, as she finished 14th with a time of 2:08.04. Graduate student Ava Duggan was the next Husky to finish, claiming 23rd with a 2:11.38, and sophomore Maddy Morgado set a new personal best of 2:27.13.
  • Graduate student Tyler Brogan led all Huskies in the men's 800m, crossing the line in 23rd at 1:51.84. Junior Conall Rogers (1:52.77) and freshman Cian Gara Grady (1:53.12) followed behind, setting new personal bests.
  • Junior Ariann Robinson led all Huskies at 56.68 in the women's 400m Invite. In the 400m Open, freshman Zaida De Pina earned a top 15 finish after running a 59.38. Freshman Taeshawn Berry ran a 50.19 in the men's 400m Invite.
  • In the women's mile, freshman Emily McCann crossed the line at 5:21.56, while sophomore Ryan Gruckza (4:24.62) was the highest-finishing Husky in the men's mile.
  • Blair collected her second school record of the indoor season, running a 23.83 in the women's 200m to claim first place. She broke the previous record by a tenth of a second.
  • Landry added a new personal best in the men's 200m invite, finishing fifth with a time of 21.34. In the 200m open, sophomore Vance Thorpe took third and a new personal best of 22.07.
  • Senior Lauren Trejo led all Huskies in the women's 1000m, running a 2:57.24. Her classmate Shannon Trevor set a new personal best of 2:59.95 in her top 20 finish.
  • The women's 3000m saw graduate student Lena Lebrun run the sixth fastest time in program history, clocking a 9:35.83.

Field Events:

  • Sophomores Ohan Ambartsoumian (15.40m) and Mark Etienvre (14.64m) claimed top-ten finishes in the men's shot put.
  • The men's long jump saw sophomore Ian Solberg reach a mark of 5.90m.
  • In the women's pole vault, sophomore Hannah Shaw earned second after recording a 3.45m vault. Sophomore Cassandra Cinzori also impressed, taking sixth with a 3.30m mark.
  • Junior Max Zuckerman took seventh in the men's pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.40m, while junior Kevin Xu earned ninth with a vault of 3.95m.
  • Cole came close to setting a new personal best in the women's high jump, where she cleared the bar at 1.80m to win the event. Her mark also set a new indoor program record in the event, making it the third school record set on the day.
  • Sophomore Aidan Moreau (15.41m) was the highest finisher in the men's weight throw, while freshman Zackery DelSasso set a new personal best of 14.72m.
  • In the women's shot put, graduate student Madeleine Duchaussee took seventh after a throw of 12.21m. Senior Claire Kuzma also competed, recording a mark of 10.87m.
  • M. Duchaussee added a seventh-place finish in the women's shot put, recording a 12.21m mark.
  • In the men's triple jump, junior Jordan Spencer leaped to 13.83m to conclude the field events.

The Northeastern track and field teams close out the indoor season with the Valentine Invitational, held at Boston University on February 14 and 15, and the Geigengack Invitational, running at Yale on February 15.
