BOSTON - The Northeastern volleyball team is on the road this weekend with three stops in Connecticut. The Huskies will head to Fairfield, Conn. first, taking on the Stags of Fairfield University at 6 p.m. Friday, September 12. On Saturday, Northeastern heads to New Haven, Conn. to take on Yale with a 6 p.m. slated start time. The weekend wraps up in Storrs, Conn. for a Huskies vs. Huskies showdown at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 14.

. CONNECTICUT OPPONENTS - The first match for the Huskies against Fairfield leans in Northeastern's favor. The Huskies hold an 8-6 record against the Stags, falling in their most recent match-up in 2019, where Fairfield won the battle 3-1. The Bulldogs of Yale hold a dominant 4-1 all-time record over the Huskies, dating through the seasons of 1993-96. The Huskies clash will be the tiebreaker between the two squads, as the current record stands at 3-3. In their last match-up UConn won an impressive 3-0 sweep in the 2015 season.

BIG APPLE STAT REPORT - Last weekend, Northeastern saw some noteworthy stat lines, including junior captain
Kaylin Daniels tallying 15 blocks, 25 kills, and averaging 1.25 blocks per set. Senior captain
Nadia Koanui continued to hold down the back court, notching 63 digs at a 4.85 per set clip and an impressive .957 percentage. First-year opposite hitter
Emma Rowell has continued to be a strong arm, adding another 34 kill weekend to her resume. The California native averaged 2.62 kills per set, a total of 37.5 points going alongside seven blocks on the weekend. Sofia King saw her collegiate debut this weekend, playing in 13 sets with a stat line of 75 assists, 18 digs, and four service aces. King averaged 5.77 assists per set. Sophomore
Arina Sosinovica played in nine sets for Northeastern with a stat line of 41 assists, 12 digs, three service aces, and two blocks. Sosinovica averaged 4.56 assists per set. Sophomore
Gabby Reeves saw action in six sets for the Huskies grabbing a stat line of 30 assists, 13 digs, three kills, and two service aces. Reeves averaged 5.00 assists per set. Overall, Northeastern tallied 167 assists, averaging 12.85 per set.

CAA STAT LEADER BOARD - Junior duo
Beatrice Gennari (No. 1) and
Kaylin Daniels (No. 2) lead the conference in hitting percentage, with Gennari hitting at an impressive .486 clip, and Daniels just behind at a .471 clip. The two middles are also ranked in the blocks per set category, Gennari at No. 7 with 1.00 and Daniels sitting at No. 10 with 0.96 per set. Sophomore setter

Nadia Koanui, averaging 0.44 service aces per set, is ranked seventh in the category, while also being top three (No. 3) in digs per set at 4.48. As a team Northeastern is ranked second in the conference for points per set (17.64), first for hitting percentage (.271), first for assists per set (13.16), second for kills per set (13.88), and second for opponent digs (12.48).
After the trip to Connecticut, Northeastern will open conference play with two matches at Stony Brook (3-3). The first match will be on Friday, September 19 with a 5 p.m. start time and the second match coming Saturday, September 20 at 2 p.m.
