BOSTON -- Northeastern field hockey hits the road Sunday for a non-conference matchup against Boston College at 2 p.m. at the Boston College Field Hockey Complex in Newton, Massachusetts. Sunday's game can be seen on ACCNX.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
SCOUTING THE EAGLES: Boston College enters Sunday's matchup with a 3-6 overall record and a 0-2 mark in ACC play. The Eagles have picked up wins over Providence, Maine and No. 20 Ohio State, earning a 3-2 shootout victory over the Buckeyes on Sept. 20. BC has faced a challenging schedule, with four of its six losses coming against ranked opponents, including No. 13 Maryland, No. 1 Northwestern, No. 3 Harvard and No. 5 Duke. Most recently, the Eagles fell to No. 5 Duke, 1-0, on Sept. 27, with goalkeeper Charlotte Kramer making eight saves. Boston College holds a 1.65 goals-against average this season, while Kramer has recorded 39 saves and a .722 save percentage through nine games.
LAST TIME OUT: Northeastern remained undefeated in CAA play with a 2-0 shutout victory over William & Mary on Sept. 25 at Dedham Field. The Huskies broke through in the second quarter when Maggie Lundy scored off a penalty corner at 20:22, with Lucy Walton and Amelia Albers providing assists. Phoebe Hall doubled the advantage in the third quarter with her first career goal, converting another penalty-corner opportunity off assists from Alex Mega and Albers. Northeastern finished with an 18-4 advantage in shots and earned nine penalty corners to William & Mary's two, while Aiko Price recorded four saves for her third consecutive shutout. The victory moved the Huskies to 2-0 in CAA play for the first time since the 2022 season.
BACK-TO-BACK: Freshman goalkeeper Aiko Price earned her second consecutive CAA weekly honor Monday, being named Co-Rookie of the Week after recording her fourth shutout of the season against William & Mary. Price stopped all four shots she faced in the 2-0 victory and extended her shutout streak to three consecutive games, having not allowed a goal in regulation or overtime since Sept. 13 against Stanford. The honor comes one week after Price was named both the CAA Defensive Player of the Week and the NFHCA National Defensive Player of the Week following back-to-back shutouts against Hofstra and No. 7 Harvard. Price currently leads the CAA with four shutouts, while her .780 save percentage ranks first in the conference.
