Freshman Kate McDavitt scored with 6:17 to go in the game to lead the Harvard field hockey team to a 1-0 victory over visiting Northeastern on Jordan Field.

Harvard dominated the statistics, outshooting the Huskies 18-2, but Northeastern played strong defense. The Huskies stymied the Crimson for most of the game as the goalkeeper combination of Emily Roy and Kathleen Madaus made 10 total saves.

The shutout was broken when Harvard's Philomena Gambale sent a lead pass into the middle where McDavitt converted for her sixth goal of the season. The Harvard defense broke up most of the Northeastern threats and freshman Katie Zacarian made two saves to record the shutout for the Crimson. Harvard, ranked 19th in the latest NFHCA poll, improved to 7-3 on the season while Northeastern, ranked 20th, dropped to 7-8.
