CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The 16th-ranked Northeastern Huskies defeated host Boston College on Wednesday night 3-0. With the win, NU improves to 4-1 while the Eagles drop to 3-3.

The Huskies jumped in front less than five minutes into the game when junior Sarah Broderick (Harwich, MA) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season on an assist from Kelly Williams (Shoreham, NY). It was the fourth straight game Broderick has scored a goal. Both Broderick and Williams have at least one point in each game this season. The 1-0 lead held through to intermission.

In the second half, junior Aleisha Bemis (Oakland, ME) collected a goal and an assist while her classmate Fior Arrindell (Oakville, CT) scored the Huskies' third goal on a penalty corner with no time left on the clock. It was the second goal of the season for both players.

Senior Kathleen Madaus (Boylston, MA) earned the shutout in net, her second consecutive and 19th of her career. She made five saves. For Boston college, Lauren Hill collected nine saves.

The game for the Huskies was their first since Sunday Sept. 7, after having a game last Saturday postponed due to the national tragedies. The Huskies will return to action this Saturday night at home when they take on league rival Boston University at 7 p.m.
